My 2nd outstation

My 2ndoutstation is from 18-22Apr.
The location is ShenZhen, China.
Flight time is early morning 6.30am at Changi Terminal 1.
Took Jetstar to HK and transfer to car ride to ShenZhen.
Came back via car ride to Chek Lap Kok airport by Jetstar too.

Flight

Whole journey was by Jetstar.
Reached HK in about 3hrs30min.
The returned flight was much longer than expected.
I was in Singapore airspace for 30min before the plane landed.
Cost:
The cost is quite reasonable for 2 way which include tax.
Service:
The service is quite ok for budget.

PS:
I slept through most of the flight again.

Hotel
This is another hotel I stayed in ShenZhen.
Its call Jinn Express.
I will rate it between 2-3 star hotel.

Cost:
Price for normal time is about rmb238 per day.
But this time I was there, the price is higher.
Cos of that time got a medical exhibition.
Room:
As you can see from the photo, the its not bad for that price.
But the aircon really need upgrade.
(must be suay, always get  bad aircon)

PS:
Overall not a bad room.
At least no basin beside the bed.

Here are some view photos from the hotel room.

Here are some of the ShenZhen Metro station photos.

Said the STOMPer:

"I was passing by Dempsey Hill at 10.50am.

"I saw this taxi which had skidded and crashed into a tree, near the entrance to the botanic gardens.

"It caused a traffic jam.

"A Traffic Police motorcycle had arrived at the scene when I took photo."

PS:
This must had caused a big jam.
Still the same advice, please drive carefully.

3 taxis involved in 7-vehicle pile-up in front of NUS High School

STOMPer Grace sent in photos of a seven-vehicle pile-up in front of NUS High School in Clementi that occurred today (April 27).

Said the STOMPer:

"At around 2.34pm, I heard a screech followed by several loud bangs while at home.

"The accident occured on the AYE in front of NUS High School.

"Immediately I went to the window to take a look and saw seven cars lined up in a collision.

"This collision involved one Comfort Taxi at the front, as well as two Prime taxis towards the back.

"An ambulance as well as traffic police arrived about ten minutes later.

"There does not seem to be any casualties."

PS:
Accidents happened everyday.
So every driver should try to drive more carefully.
Thus will lower accidents rates.
If its still happened, you are just unlucky.

$3 location charge?

STOMPer Orange paid an additional $3 as location charge on his taxi fare and wonders if there is such a fee to go to the Vietnam Embassy.

The STOMPer wrote:

"I took a Prime taxi from a taxi stand at Commonwealth MRT station to the Vietnam Embassy at 10 Leedon Park on Monday, April 23 for my visa application.

"It took the cab six minutes to reach there with a distance run of two kilometres.

"The meter fare was $4.96 and there was a location charge of $3.00.

"I called Prime taxi hotline to enquire about the location charge. They said they would investigate. I had also emailed them all the details the next day.

"But there is no feedback from them till now.

"Is there a location charge to go to an embassy?"

PS:
If what STOMPer Orange said is true, this cabby is in big trouble.
Try not to take anyone as a fool as you may become the fool instead.

Urine colour tell about your health

Ever wondered what the colour of your urine indicates? Apparently, it can tell you a lot about your health, from a liver dysfunction to cancer.

STOMPer Alex wrote:

"Urine colour indicators."

These are the urine colour indicators that reveal the state of one's health:

Yellow
“Healthy urine goes from clear to pale yellow, dark yellow to amber,” says consultant urologist Tim Terry. This depends on hydration levels, but if you’re somewhere in the yellow team, you can breathe easy.

Green
“Some antiseptics and anaesthetics give urine a green tinge,” says Terry. This is thanks to methylene blue, a dye which kidneys sometimes struggle with. Nothing too much to worry about though.

Orange
“This is a sign of liver dysfunction,” warns Terry. If your urine is this colour and you notice that your stools are white, it could be obstructive jaundice. Put down that beer – it’s GP time.

Brown
Muddy-looking pee means kidney problems. “This can be a sign of serious renal disease, even a fistula,” says Terry. That’s when your bowel leaks into your bladder. Taxi to casualty now.

Red
This is really bad. Blood in your urine can mean a haemorrhage or cancer. “In anyone over 40 we assume it’s bladder cancer, unless proven other wise,” says Terry. Get yourself to the doctor, pronto.

PS:
Seriously, I didn't know about that one's urine colour can tell you alot of things.
Hope this is useful to all.

Taxi catches fire in CTE tunnel

PS:
Luckily both cabby and passenger were ok!
What's the cause of this incident?
Is it because cabby didn't do regular checks on his taxi?
Or company technicians didn't do his job well?
Or parts problem?

Man blatantly steals taxi from people waiting at cab stand

STOMPer Eric is frustrated at people who ignore commuters waiting at a taxi stand and flag for taxis on the main road instead.

Eric says:

"I was waiting for a cab at the taxi stand in Toa Payoh Central when I saw this.

"People just ignoring the existence of a taxi stand and just flagging taxis on main road instead!

"taxis not helping as they stop and pick up."

PS:
Cabbies should pick up people at taxi stand if they are within the sight of one.

Cabby so 'champion': He reads newspaper while driving

STOMPer M's wife was concerned to see a taxi driver reading the newspaper while driving to her mother's home.

Said M:

"My wife was on the way to her mum house in a taxi and look what the taxi driver is doing.

"The taxi driver is reading the newspaper while driving..."

PS:
Cabby failed to understand that this is the same as using handphone.
Why some cabbies keep forgetting about the new technologies?

Cabbies so reluctant to go to Sentosa, they pretend not to know the places there

STOMPer Jeff noticed that several cab drivers have been openly displaying their reluctance to drive passengers to Sentosa, to the extent that they would feign ignorance of places located on the island and pretend not to understand the passengers.

Said the STOMPer:

"There seems to be some (not all) cab drivers who express their disappointment when a passenger tells them that their route is to Sentosa.

"Generally, drivers should not pick routes, or show disappointment.

"Sentosa is also being promoted as a destination.

"So yesterday (Apr 22), a passenger from Marriott Hotel tells a cab driver to go to Beach Station in Sentosa so that he could go to iFly.

"Not only did the cab driver pretend not to know where Beach Station is (can this be possible?), the driver dropped the passenger off at Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort -- and the passenger speaks clear English that even Siri can recognise!

"Could it be that the cab driver wanted an instant passenger from the hotel and sensed that this passenger was a tourist so he felt that he could "take advantage" of that? It seemed so.

"From now onwards, Sentosa-bound passengers should just note down and report cab drivers who create trouble or express disappointment for having to go there.

"I know because I have confronted two cabbies.

"One murmured endlessly about the route to himself, and another drove recklessly.

"The next driver will surely get his number plate reported by me, and hopefully by other readers who are also offended by such unprofessional behaviour.

"I have also met other impressive cab drivers who not only give an enjoyable chat but actually carry a demeanour that is like one of a limousine driver.

"They should be commended, and I am glad there are more of them than the regrettable group with poor conduct."

PS:
Didn't know got cabbies don't want to go Sentosa.

Honest cabbies

Grateful to a taxi driver
Letter from Andrew James Ong Wooi-Min

I wish to thank Mr Chong, cab driver of SHA320B, for returning to my residence with my mobile phone, which I left in his cab recently.

We have all heard of the misery of people who have lost or misplaced their mobile phones and how the "finder" would instantly switch off the phone.

I have been spared what would have been a horrendous time trying to recover the contents stored in my phone, which would have rendered me helpless for weeks, if not months.

I am immensely heartened by Mr Chong's response, and I know that many other cab drivers would have done the same.

His conduct has reminded me that there are many kind people who would take the trouble to do what is right.

I hope we can someday become a nation of kind-hearted people, where everyone would return to rightful owners what belongs to them. "What is not mine, I shall not covet" is a good mantra to start.

Once again, thank you, Mr Chong.

A word of thanks to a cabby
Letter from Joseph Chan

At about 8.45am on Sunday, I took a ComfortDelGro taxi and, unfortunately, dropped my mobile phone of no value in the cab. I managed to contact the driver by calling my phone.

He was in Woodlands and kept in touch constantly, advising me not to worry and promising to return my belongings when he is next in the surrounding area of my home in Jalan Rumah Tinggi.

At about 1.40pm, he returned my phone and some coins to me in front of my block with a smile.

Thank you and I wish you all the best.

PS:
Some more good news for cabbies.

Reckless driver almost knock into taxi, motorcycle when changing lanes

A man was caught driving recklessly along Bukit Timah Road by STOMPer Zack, who almost got knocked down by him twice when the driver tried to switch lanes. According to the STOMPer, the driver also caused a taxi to swerve away to avoid hitting him.

The STOMPer wrote:

"These photos were taken by my wife, who was riding pillion with me.

"A driver in a Mazda 323 Protege, bearing the plate number SDY8851D, was driving recklessly and changing lane dangerously. The incident took place along Bukit Timah road, outside KK Hospital, towards Sungei Road at about 4:20pm last Thursday (Apr 12). At that time, there was heavy traffic from Bukit Timah Road up till Sungei road.

"My wife and I were on our motorcycle when the silver-coloured Mazda, exiting from the Kampong Java Road split lane, suddenly swerved towards us from the left, almost hitting us if not for a few inches.

"Sensing something wasn't right, I quickly picked up speed to avoid any mishap.

"While moving slowly in the heavy traffic, the driver kept tailgating us and kept a close distance behind us before he tried to overtake us on the right side -- again leaving just a few inches of space between us and him.

"Then, we were then travelling in the middle lane and he tried to maneuver his car to get in between 2 lanes, forcing us out of our lane as there was a car on our right as well.

"Later on, he forced a taxi to swerve away and avoid being hit by him.

"We saw a child on board the car with him and feel that he should set a good example by driving safely."

PS:
Another with taxi mentioned, but not at fault.

Goondu driver goes against traffic and almost collides into cab

STOMPer Henry spotted this driver, who was apparently drunk, driving his car against traffic along Sembawang Road at about 11pm yesterday (April 19) and almost colliding into a taxi.

Said the STOMPer:

"While waiting for a taxi, I saw this car mount up to a kerb and halfway through, the driver drove the car down to the road. The driver was driving his car on the opposite direction, against the traffic flow.

"At one point, the car almost hit a taxi. The driver then stopped his car and let the taxi pass.

"After that, he continued to drive against the traffic and changed to the correct direction at a traffic junction.

"The driver was apparently drunk, judging from the way he drove. The car came from a road with a few pubs, thus the driver must have had drunk quite a bit."

PS:
Taxi mentioned but not at fault.

Outstation from 18-22Apr

I will be outstation from 18-22 Apr.

Cabby at FedEx's loading bay

STOMPer Nurwana saw a taxi which had plunged halfway down the loading/unloading bay at the FedEx building.

Said the STOMPer:

"Yellow cab diving stunt.

"A yellow cab plunged down the loading/unloading bay at FedEx.

"The cabby had thought it was the exit out of the building."

STOMPer HZ says a taxi driver whose vehicle had plunged halfway down the FedEx loading/unloading bay had mistaken this big entrance as an exit.

The STOMPer wrote:

"It was 7.45pm when I reached my workplace (FedEx Sina at Changi South).

"There was a big commotion going on at the loading/unloading bay.

"When I reached the scene, I saw a taxi which had plunged halfway down the loading/unloading bay.

"The taxi driver had mistaken the big entrance which is actually a place for big trucks to do loading and unloading for the exit.

"Luckily, nobody was injured in the incident."

PS:
Thats why we all got to be more careful.
Especially if we are not familiar with the place.
Money hard to earn.

Cabby fails to escape driving ban and fine

A judge threw out a taxi driver's appeal last Wednesday against a $1,400 fine and a year's suspension from driving.

His reason? The sentence was already lenient.

Justice Choo Han Teck said cabby Chan Siak Huat, 39, had committed two sets of serious road traffic offences within a week.

'This fact alone should warrant a higher sentence,' the judge said in judgment grounds released last Wednesday.

Chan had pleaded guilty last November in a district court to knocking down a pedestrian at a junction in Kim Seng Road in 2010. The victim Eika Banerjee was hurt and taken to hospital.

Investigations revealed that Chan was driving without a valid licence that day due to a temporary suspension.

Seven other traffic charges were taken into consideration for his sentencing. These included speeding along Nicoll Highway and driving without a valid licence and insurance coverage, which were committed within the same week of the offences in his present appeals case.

For the first charge of driving without a licence, Chan was sentenced to a $800 fine and suspended from driving for a year. For the second charge of driving carelessly, he was fined another $600.

He could have been fined up to a total of $3,000 or sentenced to nine months' jail for the two charges.

He had appealed against the one-year driving ban, which his lawyer had argued was excessive.

The lawyer urged the court to shorten the ban, arguing that the relevant section of law was meant to deal with unlicensed drivers.

Justice Choo disagreed. He said the fine and licence suspension were in fact 'a little lenient'.

'Taxi drivers as professional drivers ought to be setting the standard for courteous and safe driving,' he said.

He added that their employers are responsible for encouraging that attitude in positive ways, such as through education, training and reminders.

'While the courts are not concerned with those methods of inculcating safe driving, they will ensure that irresponsible drivers are sufficiently punished, especially where damage or injury is caused,' he said.

PS:
This is a black sheep among cabbies.

Former security guard assaults cabby for hitting his motorcycle

A former security guard who lost his cool and assaulted a taxi driver for hitting his motorcycle in a road traffic accident was jailed for two weeks on Friday.

Ahmad Bakhtiar Afandi Ismail, 63, had pleaded guilty last week to punching Mr Tan Choo and stamping the 55-year-old on the chest at the junction of Pasir Ris Drive 1 and Pasir Ris Drive 8 on Nov 1, 2010.

The court heard that Mr Tan was making a right turn into Pasir Ris Drive 1 that evening when his taxi hit Ahmad who was travelling fom the opposite direction with his wife as a pillion rider.

The victim immediately stopped after the collision.

As he was approaching the couple, Ahmad stood up and gave him two punches. The victim fell to the ground and Ahmad proceeded to stamp him in the chest.

Mr Tan was treated at Changi General Hospital for chest contusion. He subsequently lodged a police report.

Ahmad, who is now unemployed, could have been jailed for up to two years and/or fined up to $5,000 for voluntarily causing hurt.

PS:
Both are in the wrong.
But when emotions run high, some people just can't control it.

Cabby parks at Woodlands taxi stand

STOMPer tybalt wonders if cabbies are allowed to park their vehicles at a taxi stand after a cabby stopped at a stand in Woodlands Central for at least 30 minutes, causing inconvenience to other cabbies earlier today (Apr 15).

The STOMPer wrote:

"I was at the taxi stand near the Woodlands Civic Centre earlier today (Apr 15) when I came across this taxi parked there.

"The cab was parked there for at least half an hour and blocked other taxis from coming in to pick passengers up. There was one cabby who had to reverse out of the lane as he couldn't go past the parked taxi.

"The driver of the parked taxi finally came out When I was at the front of the queue, with another taxi coming in behind to pick my wife and I up.

"What made matters worst to me was that he drove off without even asking passengers behind me if any of them wanted to board his cab.

"I'm confused as to whether or not taxis are allowed to park at a taxi stand. The sign at the taxi stand did say that no waiting or parking is allowed unless it is a taxi but this doesn't seem right."

PS:
Dear fellow cabbies, please be more careful.
Nowadays, majority of hand-phone have camera.

Cabby met bad people at RWS

Cabby met bad people at RWS on 15/04/2012 around 12.35am.
But this news appeared on MDT was at least 4hrs over due.
So how to catch?
I thought RWS got quite tight security?
But how come they can't catch hold of these 4 people?
So the drunkards there are more dangerous?

Taxis hogging lots meant for residents

Taxis hogging lots meant for residents

Occupying almost half of the top level of a multi-storey carpark in the Sin Ming Road area are about 20 Premier Silvercabs.
Many of the cabs parked there look like they have been there for days, some even longer, and some appear to be in very bad condition.
Checks revealed that the taxis were left there by Mega Auto car service centre, which is just across the road.
This has annoyed some residents, who say the cabs are taking parking lots away from residents or workers in the area.

PS:
I think this is not done by cabby.
But by company.
Which company...I don't know.

Cabbies can drive till they are 75 years old

New rules to allow fit cabbies to continue driving till they are 75yo.
But would I want to do that?
I don't think so.
Driving in this era is no more slow drive.
Driving nowadays need alot concentration.
As one grows older, our body also start to slow down.
Risk to our self is one thing.
Risk to others is another.

Beat red light to pick up customer

STOMPer Dennis spotted this green taxi running the red light along Upper Changi Road just to pick up a passenger who just crossed the road at 5.21pm yesterday. (April 12)

The STOMPer wrote:

"This taxi ran the red light to pick up a passenger who just crossed the road."

Dear fellow cabbies,
No need to rush.
If its yours, it will be yours.
Why risk it over a small amount of income?

Accident at Woodlands

STOMPer Leng Kern spotted an accident involving a cab and a lorry this morning (April 13) at the junction of Woodlands Avenue 5 and Avenue 4. According to the STOMPer, at least 2 other accidents have occurred at this junction.

He wrote:

"There was yet another accident at the traffic junction of Woodlands Avenue 5 and Woodlands Avenue 4 this morning at about 8 am. This time involving a Comfort taxi and a lorry.

"From the picture, it seems the taxi must have made a U-turn and got hit by the lorry that was travelling towards Avenue 4. Many accidents have happened at this junction, two of which had been featured in STOMP previously at these links:
Lorry driver dies in chain collision at Woodlands Ave 5
Motorbike crashes at 'accident prone' Woodlands junction

"Today's accident was quite bad, as the lorry was damaged and the entire front windscreen came off and was found on the road. Not sure whether anyone was injured. Drivers like to speed along this stretch of road.

"Besides the Woodlands Avenue 5/4 junction, the junction further down near Seagate has also seen many accidents, many of which have been featured in STOMP.

"These drivers posed dangers to pedestrians on the road who may be crossing. Taxi drivers like to switch lanes, make illegal U-turns and tend to speed, thereby causing accidents.

"LTA and the traffic police should visit these accident prone junctions and do something before more accidents happen."

PS:
Who caused the accident?
Only they will know.
But drivers, pls be more careful.

Heartened by honest cabby

I THANK Mr Chong, driver of a taxi with licence plate number SHA320B, for taking the trouble to visit me at home to return my cellphone, which I had left in his taxi on Sunday after I alighted.
I have been spared a horrendous time trying to recover the contents stored in my cellphone, which would have rendered me helpless for weeks.
I am heartened by Mr Chong's response and conduct.

Singlish expat

I pick up an expat customer.
As we were exiting a small road to the main road.
A van suddenly turn in.
The van uncle refused to give way.
What I didn't expect was the expat said:
'Wah lau, why this uncle like that!'
So in the end, we let the van pass as he was rushing for time.

If you think that is the end...got part 2.
As we were about to enter expressway, a car suddenly cut infront.
So I horned.
The expat said:
'Wah lau, why he drive like that!'

Looks like this expat really localised.
He can really use Singlish to scold...haha

13yo schoolboy became a hero

The quick-thinking of 13-year-old schoolboy Jeremy Wuitschick in stopping a school bus after the driver had apparently suffered a heart attack ensured he, and the 12 other students who were on the same bus, walked out safe and sound.

CCTV footage from inside the bus shows Wuitschick, a student from Washington, rushing forward to the bus driver's seat to take the keys out of ignition and steered the bus to the side after the driver had collapsed in his seat.

When interviewed, Wuitschick said that the only thought in his head was that he didn't want to die when he raced forward to try and prevent things from going downhill.

STOMPer SparkPlugWitWicky, who came across this story online, wrote:

"I salute young Jeremy Wuitschick for keeping his cool amidst the anxiety going on in the bus.

"To have been educated about the safety measures to adopt during a situation is one thing, but to remain calm and execute it is another -- that is why Wuitschick is a hero in my eyes.

"The kids may not have known how to do CPR on the bus driver but at least they're all safe, thanks to the quick wit of Jeremy Wuitschick."

PS:
Its really surprising that this 13yo schoolboy is able to keep his cool.
And because of this, he saved alot of people,
Boy, I salute you!
You are a hero!

Kind cabby on Stomp

STOMPer Robyn Marie was touched by the sight of this taxi driver helping an elderly man into his cab. He also helped the man stow his walking frame in the boot of the vehicle.

The STOMPer wrote:

"Witnessing this act of kindness almost brought tears to my eyes.

"This taxi stopped in front of my mum's car and just when we were wondering why, a frail old man with a walking frame who was struggling to keep his balance appeared on our left.

"He could only manage to walk an inch at a time and his whole body was shaking.

"When he was struggling to fold his walking frame, my first instinct was to get out of the car and help him. Thankfully, the cabby had already done so.

"Why was this old man dangerously hailing a cab in the middle of a busy road? Perhaps there's a good reason, but still, my heart broke.

"I'm glad to see this cabby lending a helping hand to this elderly man. Cheers to him!"

PS:
People will think its rare to see cabbies do kind act.
But the fact is alot are not reported.
But bad news always appeared.
Therefore people will think on the bad when cabby is mentioned.
Always remember that there will always be good and bad people around.

How come I didn't felt the increase?
In fact, I felt the slow down.

Accident at Pasir Panjang Road

STOMPer Alan was passing by Pasir Panjang Panjang Road at 6.30pm today when he noticed that a taxi and a van were involved in an accident. This held up traffic for around 30 minutes.

Said the STOMPer:

"I was on board a bus, which was passing by Pasir Panjang Road, when I noticed that there was a traffic jam.

"A taxi had collided with a van.

"Traffic was jammed for about 30 minutes.

"Police officers and Traffic Police personnel arrived on the scene shortly after the accident.

"The taxi was in bad shape, so the officers had to push it out of the way.

"The van was towed away."

PS:
Accidents can happened for all reasons.
Just hope that no one is injured.
Try to drive more carefully.

Pump air incident

STOMPer Shirley was frustrated to see a taxi driver cutting the queue at a ESSO petrol station along Bedok North Road via the No Entry exit on April 6 and acting as if he was there first.

The STOMPer wrote:

"I was in the queue to pump air for my car when a TIBS taxi cut the queue via the 'No Entry' exit from the other side of the petrol station. This is not the first time I have seen this as other cars have been using the 'No Entry' exit to cut the queues at petrol stations.

"Anyway, the taxi driver proceeded to pump air for his taxi and was oblivious of me although I came out of my car, stared at him and took photo of him. It was as though he was there in the first place! From the photos, you can see that he was in the same direction as the 'No Entry' sign.

"I am frustrated by his behaviour. He poses a potential hazard for all the people at the petrol station by violating the 'No Entry' sign. What if there's a collision?

"I have sent my feedback to TIBS and Esso. I hope they can look into this issue and rectify a potential hazard."

PS:
Stomper Shirley might had got the petrol station wrong.
From the photo, it should be SPC and not Esso.
So who is right?
I don't know.
Only they will know.

Merc cabby's lucky meet

A Merc cabby picked up his customer fr the airport.
But after just leaving the taxi bay for about 500m.
His tyre went flat.
So how to consider this lucky?
What's Merc cabby's lucky meet got to do with me?
Well, I was leaving airport after sending my customer there.
I decided not to queue as there was long queue at all terminals.
The Merc cabby came out to flag a replacement cab for his customer.
And I happened to be the one.
What surprised me was the customer passed him some money.
How much...I don't know.
But that was a nice gesture.
Thus I decided to return a favour by not charging him the airport surcharge.

There are always good and bad people around.
Its only one's luck whom they meet.

I mean the vehicle itself.
Why I ask...cos I saw and heard so many taxi vehicle breakdowns.
So which taxi model you think is the best?

Idiot win 1.26M lottery but ended in more debts

A Chinese chef residing in New York won US$1million ($1.26m) in lottery money, but lost it all at a casino. His wife divorced him and he is now hiding from moneylenders.

31-year-old Zou Bingsheng, originally from Fujian, won the $1.26m after he bought a US$20 ($25) lottery ticket in 2009. He and his wife planned to use the money to open a hair salon and sushi shop, but Zou lost all the money overnight at a casino in Connecticut.

He also incurred huge debts from gambling. He angry wife Liu Liqin divorced him the following year and Zou went into hiding to evade moneylenders. The moneylenders started harassing Liu after they failed to locate Zou.

The couple have a 4-year-old daughter.

STOMPer Mustard wrote:

"Striking the lottery is no easy feat, and this guy actually won more than $1million but gambled it all away!

"If I were his wife I'd have done the same thing and divorced him. Now not only have they lost their windfall, the couple is also mired in debts as moneylenders have been harassing the wife after Zou went into hiding.
"Top top it all off, Zou is really irresponsible. Instead of using the money to provide a good life for his wife and young daughter, he got himself into debt and abandoned his family."

Really idiot!
But I guess its his fate to win but not his fate to have it.
Gambling without control can ruin a person or a whole family's life.

MacDonald Ah Ma

Anyone remember this MacDonald's ad?
Also the famous Ah Ma?
She is not around anymore.
But this is really a classic ad.
So just enjoy it again.

PS:
I am trying to find the handphone ad with this lyric "It's your mama".

Rainy argument

On his way to Sentosa, STOMPer KT encountered a cab driver who started the meter before he even got into the cab. The driver also tried to get the STOMPer to alight at the Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) Casino taxi stand so that he could enjoy the extra charge at that pick-up point.

The STOMPer wrote:

"A wet and rainy morning to start off the day with and what better way to worsen it?

"A difficult Comfort DelGro cab driver.

"After I flagged down his taxi, he started the fare meter before the cab even came to a complete halt and before I even boarded the cab!

"To my utter disgust, when told that my destination was in Sentosa, this driver commented that there were more telephone bookings that he could have taken up instead of going to Sentosa.

"After I retorted that I was actually the one paying him the fare, he then asked if it was the RWS Casino taxi stand that I was headed to.

"I told him that I was heading to Siloso Point in Sentosa, but he kept repeating the question on whether I was headed to the RWS Casino until I told him off and explained that I was going to Siloso Point to work, not to the Resorts World Casino to gamble.

"It appeared that he wanted to go the RWS Casino taxi stand so that he could charge passengers the extra $3.50 for fares starting from that pick-up point.

"Lastly, he drove so slowly even on the expressway, holding up traffic in the middle lane!

"What a disreputable cabby.

"I hope Comfort DelGro will deal with him accordingly."

PS:
Story might be one sided.
There might misunderstanding between them.
But if this stomper said is true, than this cabby must be out of his mind.
With internet so wide now, alot of things can't be sweep under the map.
