Man believed to have slashed taxi driver arrested



The police have arrested a 25-year-old man who allegedly slashed a taxi-driver at Jurong West Street 81.
They were informed that a taxi-driver had been slashed by his passenger who fled the scene on June 16. 
A series of ambush operations were conducted at locations 
he was known to frequent after his identity was established on Friday.
He was arrested and detained on Monday when he was spotted at Jurong West St 81, 
near the location of the offence. 
A chopper, believed to be the weapon used in the offence, 
and the clothes which the suspect purportedly wore at the time were also seized.
If convicted of voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous means, 
he may be jailed for life, and is also liable to a fine or caning.
