Pls...don't call me Expat

Picked up an angmo customer at a bus stop.
When he got in, he start complained.
He said that he been waiting for the bus for more than 30min.
And 2 bus for the other direction had passed.
Soon we started chatting about driving here.
And the 'Expat' word came out.
He said that he prefers not to be called 'Expat'.
But a Singapore-lised German.
He has been here for more than 7yrs.
He really like living here.
And had began doing Singaporean activities like going to the mall, watching movie etc.
He had also start a company here.
Its really nice chatting with him.
At the end, he recommended Munich as a good and fun place to visit.

Thank you for waiting

I would to say thank you to this customer, Mr Singh.
He was my on call customer.
I shouldn't had accepted the job.
But the jam along the way there was much worst than expected.
So by the time I reached there, its total of 18min.
I had expected he would had left.
Boy, I was wrong.
He was waiting for me.
It really made my day.
I would like to say thank you again!

Mr Yusof Ishak's great granddaughter

Sent 2 Malay ladies to a mosque in Geylang Lor 37.
They were there to attend a wedding.
Because I had picked them up at another function.
So I asked them...they really had a busy day.
So they told me that they are attending a wedding.
The bride is none other than Mr Yusof Ishak's great granddaughter.
Congratulation to the new couple!

Met Taxi Uncle.....of the sea

After sending 2 customers to Marina South Pier.
I decided to wait awhile to see if got customer to go out.
After 3min wait, got a uncle got in.
We started chatting.
I asked him about his job.
His reply was..."like you, driving people around....except at sea."
He told me how his job was like.
He is in the job for 33yrs.
Its really interesting to be able to meet nice customer.

Customer from Belgium

Drove a customer from Belgium.
She is friendly.
We chat about Belgium.
All I know about this country is that it hosted the HQ for NATO.
Also the famous battle that happened that during WW2.
She told me that Belgium should be enter into Guinness book of record:-
For being the country that continue functioning without a Government.
Than she explained......
Its not that they don't have a Government in place.
Just that 3 parties got about the same amount of seats in their parliament.
Thus no out right winner.
So they had to form coalition, but they can never agree with each other.
Thus its as good as no Government.

Same parents...19 kids

Recently got a customer told me that he came from a big family.
Exncluding himself...he had 18 brothers and sisters.
What was shocking was that all from the same parents.
I heard before big families with lots of kids.
But mostly few different mothers.
He liked his big family.
But he got a big headache....when its Hari Raya time.
Why?
Cos he got alot of nieces and nephews.

It's a rainy & quiet Christmas day

This year's Christmas day was a rainy & quiet one.
Was on the street from 5pm till 5am working as PT cabby.
It was totally different from last year.
Maybe its because of the rain that made people want to stay indoor.
Last year wasn't rainy.
But still see people getting drunk and some accidents.
Guess thats the norm nowadays...even its not a holiday.

When tired….get some rest

Remember to rest when your body start giving out warnings
Cos you never know when your body will auto shut down
If lucky…nothing happen
If unlucky…a one way ticket to the other world
If really unlucky…you continue to live with a guilty conscious for the rest of your life

SUV doing dangerous stuns on expressway

Saw this news on the web.
Reminded me of an incident about 5yrs back.
A pink colour car was in the most right lane of PIE and I was at the most left lane.
The driver of the pink colour car decided to make a 90 degrees turn to the CTE exit.
Luckily, I was driving at about 60km/hr, I managed to stop in time.
And even more lucky was the the expressway was empty and no cars behind me too.
Too bad, back then got no car camera to record it.
